A large building works package to create a new flagship restaurant for the well known Caprice Group. Our works comprised the demolition and structural alterations of an old high street bank into a state of the art seafood restaurant. Key elements of works included:- construction of a new electrical sub-station within the confines of the existing building basement to UK Power Networks standards; structural works and logistical support to install over £1M worth of artwork by Frank Gehry as part of the final restaurant fit out; Structural works and logistical support to install 2nr fish tanks in the private dining areas; asbestos removal, tunnelling and specialist works in confined spaces to enlarge the sub-basement to allow installation of M&E services for the back of house areas of the restaurant. We also carried out a substantial building package including screeds, specialist GRP housings and structural steelwork to create a new roof plant area. The works were particularly challenging as we had to ensure that existing tenants' businesses located on the upper storeys of the building were not disturbed during the works and maintaining relationships with the building landlord were of paramount importance.
