Battersea Power Station to Power Up Again!

Battersea Power Station will once again be a source of energy supply for Londoners following the creation of a new Energy Centre 40 years after being taken out of service.

It  is set to become one of the largest of its kind ever to be created in the UK.

Shaca Construction are working alongside Vital Energi on the structural build and are now in the process of fitting it out ahead of completion in 2020.

To create the vast underground space adjacent to the River Thames, and in front of the Grade II* listed building has come with many issues and has been problematic

150,000 cubic metres of earth have been excavated and taken away using river barges. Some 16,000 cubic metres of concrete was poured, 4,200 tonnes of steel structure installed and 13,000 cubic metres of blockwork laid in what was undoubtedly a major construction and engineering challenge.

The new Energy Centre will be underground and provide natural sound proofing.

We are looking forward to seeing the finished project of this iconic building.

Stephenson House

Shaca Construction have been busy assisting on a 225,000 square ft project in London to demolish a current property and redevelop it to a 7-storey commercial space. The space comprises of  17 residential apartments and retail space. The developer has yet to undertake a scheme like Stephenson House and this is their first project of this nature.

The project comes with some difficult challenges such as 5 party walls to be kept in agreement, building 3 new substations and the fact that the site is located adjacent to the HS2 Crossrail Link, this is a logistically challenging project. We are excited to see the finished project and proud to be part of it.
